For consideration, submit an outline of the proposed grant by February 15th (Spring Grant Cycle) and August 15th (Fall Grant Cycle) to the Executive Director as the preliminary step. Outline must include organization details, grant purpose and overview of capital required to meet the project goal.
Invitation from The Cabell Foundation’s Executive Director is required for consideration in the grant cycle. Once invited, provide printed and pdf copy of the proposal elements application to the Executive Director and paper copy to the office by the deadline dates outlined for competitive grant cycle.
Should the proposal deadline fall on a weekend or holiday, applications will be accepted no later than the following business day.

The Foundation strongly encourages inquiries and, when possible, meetings or site visits will be scheduled. Please submit an email outline of the proposed grant request as a preliminary step to the Executive Director. Phone inquiries and site visits will be scheduled as needed pending the initial requirement review. By policy, individual officers and directors of the Foundation do not discuss potential applications with prospective grantees.
Proposals submitted without contacting the Foundation before the grant deadline and without an invitation requesting submission will not be considered for the grant cycle.
